The six interest areas

R — Realistic

You lean toward practical, hands-on work with tangible results. Tools, machinery, physical materials and the outdoors tend to appeal more than abstract discussion or paperwork.

I — Investigative

You are drawn to analysis, research and understanding how things work. You prefer thinking a problem through to following a fixed procedure.

A — Artistic

You value originality and self-expression, and work best where the method is not prescribed. Design, writing, media and performance appeal.

S — Social

You are energised by helping, teaching and developing people, and you gravitate toward collaboration and service rather than solitary technical work.

E — Enterprising

You like leading, persuading and driving initiatives forward. Commercial goals, negotiation and visible responsibility appeal.

C — Conventional

You prefer structure, accuracy and dependable systems. Organising information and keeping processes running correctly appeals more than open-ended ambiguity.
